Domesticated…? Maybe, Perhaps…

These are some of the meal preps, treats that I’ve made for Laurent & Saint, my 2 furkids. I would have to admit that using the Food Dehydrator definitely increases the electricity bill quite a fair bit as meats have to dehydrate over night while fruits only take 6hrs.

Besides making food and yummies for the furkids. I do cook abit as well. I make from curries, pastas to soups and desserts. I can cook and bake from scratch. I prefer that because I can control the amount of sodium and sugar in the dishes and custom them the way that I think would be delish. I think my furkids love the food I make for them. Atleast, no complains as yet from them. LOL… I hate chopping things up and washing up but I like the process in the middle. Seeing ingredients turn into edible, yummy-licious food but I have to confess that I enjoy cooking for others but myself. Is that just me or anyone that cooks have the same sentiment? Let me know in the comment below.

I love to eat food that’s rich with spices and savory. So, I enjoy Japanese, Thai and Indian food the most. What’s your favourite cuisine? Do let me know in the comment below. πŸ˜€

My cooking journey started when I moved out of my parents place for good in November 2017. Prior to that, I used to cook the normal, quick instant noodles on the stove or bake chocolate brownies. My colleagues and friends loved my chocolate chip brownies.

In my opinion, I think the easiest dish to cook would be pasta. But, the most complicated, difficult pasta dish to cook would be Aglio Olio. Well, atleast to me. Weird right as it’s only garlic, onion, chili flakes base? Though, I bet it’s easy for you to cook though. πŸ™‚

I’m looking for new inspiration and ideas on what I should try to cook next. If you have a yummy-licious recipe that I should try out, please leave it in the comment below. Thank you in advanced. πŸ˜€

Joys of Having Furkids…

As you can tell from the title that I love having furkids, especially dogs. Yes, I love them so much that I have 2 – Laurent, a French Bulldog and Saint, a Pocket Beagle. I honestly would have been so lonely if it wasn’t for them. I never ever pictured that when I move out from my parents’ place that I’d be staying alone but, I’ve lived alone for the past 2 years ever since my ex moved out. Since my Mom passed away last month, I’ve gotten my dad to move in with me as I know that he wouldn’t be okay living alone as he was very, very, very attached to my Mom.

Laurent + Saint keeps me busy everyday with feeding them breakie first thing in the morning when I get up and then of course I have to clean up after they’ve both gone potty. Because I don’t feed them kibbles, I have to prepare their breakfast + dinner right before I feed them. They have been on raw diet since early last year as Laurent has been struggling a lil with some food allergies since June 2019 when she was 2+ years old.

Talking about food allergies, I got her to take an allergen test last year which was on the pricey side. To my horror, she’s allergic to pumpkin which was one of the healthy choice of vegetable that I’ve been feeding her + the protein and other vegie for a really long time. So, I immediately removed pumpkins from her diet. So, ever since I’ve been feeding her beef tenderloin that’s cubed. I will try giving her lamb too eventually. It seems that it has sorted out her slight allergies. So, YAY!!

One thing that I feel bad about is not bringing them out for walkies like I used to when I had help. One thing I think many do not know about me is, I’m very anal about hygiene/cleanliness. Therefore, after each walks and before they can get back into the car, I wash their lil paws and once we get home, they get a full shower. So, that being said, it’s quite tricky to do it all by myself. So, what I have been doing is, I play fetch with them to ensure they get enough runs in to stay healthy. I also forgot to mentioned that they do zoomies and chase each other around the house every day. I’ve spoken to my dad and after the MCO 2.0/Lockdown has been lifted, I’d like to bring them to the park for walkies. I know they miss going out.

A month before my Mom lost her battle to cancer, I had a few breakdowns or better known as anticipatory grief and the furkids were always there keeping me company. They would look at me and sit quietly next to me while I pet them. That definitely gave me some comfort. I read that dogs can read humans emotions and I would have to agree with this as this wasn’t the first time that I was comforted by them. In the past, Cookie my Shih Tzu comforted me too when I was sad. How can you not love them?

Villa Samadhi…

Looking for a sanctuary, a getaway or maybe a romantic stay but, still want to be in the city to enjoy the nightlife or maybe shopping at Suria KLCC or just want to explore KL’s Golden Triangle? Villa Samadhi is the place for you to stay. From the outside, you wouldn’t be able to tell that there’s a lil piece of Nirvana behind the hidden guarded gates to the premise. When we arrived, we were greeted by a guard at the gate and by showing our reservation to him, he opened the gates and led us to a parking space within the lot. Once we had a glimpse of the kept secret behind the gates, we instantly felt serenity and excitement started to creep in. πŸ™‚

The Room – Luxe Sarang

Here’s a walk through video of the Luxe Sarang. πŸ™‚

We booked the Luxe Sarang for 2 nights and upon unlocking the wooden doors to our Garden Courtyard, we were greeted by a large daybed and also our very own Private Plunge Pool. Then there’s another door that leads into the Villa/room. Behind that door, there’s a big hallway with an antique table with complimentary local delicacy of cookies and “kuih” (cake). Finally, you enter the bedroom area + living area which is well funished with a large and comfortable king size bed and also another daybed that functions as a sofa which gives you a good view to the balcony/patio area which gives you direct access to the pool. Btw, the Luxe Sarang is the only Villa with the defining feature of its direct access to the pool, offering an exclusive luxurious retreat to soak in the afternoon sun or enjoy a romantic moon-lit dinner for two.

Back in the room, there will be another double door that leads you into another room with a walk-in wardrobe + work station/desk for those that have to keep up with some work. Within that room, you’ll see another double door that leads you into the huge bathroom with double sinks, one for her and another for him where there’s a huge area that’s fitted with double rainshower + shower separated by a set of huge sliding glass doors that gives you direct access to the Private Plunge Pool and Garden Courtyard area.

Dining with a View – Nobu, KL Edition…

This is definitely a long overdue post. To be exact, almost 1.5 months late. After my short 2 weeks holiday in February, I got extremely busy catching up with work and my personal life. There’s definitely been lots of changes, but they are definitely good ones for sure.

I had the opportunity to wine and dine at Nobu, Kuala Lumpur again in February 2019. We definitely managed to get a better table this time around as it was right next to the famous KL Twin Towers with a beautiful view of the KL, Sunset on the 17th of February 2019. Instead of going for the Omakase like I did in 2015, JR and I decided to order off the menu and every dish we had, was definitely to die for. It was totally delish. In all honesty, I’m terrified of heights but dining on the 56th floor once in awhile is definitely something I can get used to. πŸ™‚

Btw, you don’t have to dine at Nobu just to celebrate a special occasion, just make a reservation and head there to enjoy a nice dinner with your girls or guys or family of course. Definitely, a highly recommended restaurant by me. πŸ™‚
